Wong Kar Wai's In The Mood for Love left a lasting impression on me. Growing up in a Cantonese household, the film felt nostalgic and almost personal.

I wanted my take on it to feel true to that experience, so before diving in, I spent time studying the film's aesthetic to make sure I did it justice.
My concept The Distance Between Us, was inspired by the film's push and pull dynamic between the two leads. I wanted to capture that sense of longing shown in the movie through this concept.

I based my story structure heavily around this concept, and I wanted to capture that longing and restraint through the usage of physical boundaries and visual metaphors to show the dichotomy between the two characters.
